Superintendent Search Service

School Districts seeking a new leader can find expertise at MSBA. Search consultants work with districts to:

  • Learn District Needs
    • Attend school district board meeting to discuss the service
    • Interview board members to learn qualifications sought
    • Assist in setting search guidelines
    • Conduct "town meetings" to find out community expectations
  • Publicize the Vacancy
    • Develop an announcement brochure for dissemination locally and regionally, with an option for the board to broaden the search area.
    • Prepare the Employment Application, based on district expectations
    • Make the announcement brochure and employment application available on the MSBA website
  • Qualify the Candidates
    • Review and process each application
    • Verify references
    • Verify candidates' qualifications and availability
  • Present the Candidates
    • Submit list of qualified candidates
    • Prepare interview questions
    • Make travel arrangements for candidates
    • Assist with contract for successful candidate

MSBA's commitment is to continue the search process until the school district is pleased with the results. We won't quit until the school board is satisfied that it has the right person for the job.
